Problems
Deforestation has been the cause of many problems facing the world today such as erosions, loss of biodiversity through extinction of plant and animal species, and increased atmospheric carbon dioxide.

Effects on Humans
: By destroying the tropical forests, we risk our own quality of life  With the rain forests being destroyed there are risks that are brought to the human race.  By destroying the rain forest humans are putting their own quality of life at risk!  These habitats provide  valuable services such as:  erosion prevention, flood control, water treatment, and pollination.  Some of the world poorest places rely on these natural services for everyday survival.  As well with forest loss, we loss valuable non-renewable resources.  These include timber, medicinal plants, and food for others.25% of medicines come from the forests. Such habitats afford humans valuable services such as erosion prevention, flood control, water treatment, fisheries protection, and pollination, functions that are particularly important to the world's poorest people, who rely on natural resources for their everyday survival. Forest loss also reduces the availability of renewable resources like timber, medicinal plants, nuts and fruit, and game. By destroying the tropical forests, we risk our own quality of life

Extinction of Species:  Tropical Rainforests presently give a place to call home for 50% - 90% of all organisms, 90% of our relatives, the primates, and 50 million creatures that can live no place but the rich rainforests,  they happen to contain between 70% and 90% of all of the world's species. With the loss of valuable animals, such as elephants, gorillas, tropical birds the forests lose the ability to allow for seed dispirsal that would normally help the forests to expand.  The forests loose the species and also loose the potential to grow.  There is threat of emergent diseases to the species with in the forests.  Microorganisms become to develop stronger and animals have less to protect them such as plants that would normally be available to help ward off or fight those new emerging diseases.  As a result of deforestation, we are losing between 50 and 100 animal and plant species each day

Water levels in Lakes, Rivers, and Dams:  Clearing the forest dramatically increases the surface run-off from rainfall, mainly because a greater proportion of the rain reaches the ground due to a lack of vegetation which would suck up the excess rainfall. "Tropical forests can receive as much rain in an hour as London would expect in a wet month.  perhaps the most serious consequence is that of climate change due to the loss of trees. Earth has an atmosphere which contains a variety of gases, all in a delicate balance, to ensure life on Earth. One of these gases in Earth's atmosphere is carbon dioxide; a gas which helps moderate heat loss to outer space. Insulating gases such as carbon dioxide are called greenhouse gasses allow solar heat into the system, but discourage its escape.  If there are additional greenhouse gases, there will be a gradual increase in temperature on Earth's surface. This could lead to changes in weather patterns, sea levels, and other cycles in nature that directly affect life on Earth.  The cutting don of the rain forest creates a huge impact on the atmosphere and causes a lot of the climate changes today.  It contibutes to flooding, intense weather patterns, and droughts that all leave and impat on the planet.
