I am a Brooklyn girl, born and raised. I have grown up in the city my entire life until I moved to Cortland for college. These two completely different experiences helped expand my politics of location. I have learned to adapt to many different cultures, situations and people. I’ve learned throughout the years that I love people. I am a much happier person when I am surrounded by those I care about or with an abundance of other people that I can make laugh. For this reason, I knew that I needed to be in a field that allowed me to be surrounded by people instead of stuck in a cubicle. Teaching seems perfect.

At a very young age I developed a penchant for literature. I would always have a book in my hand and read for hours. Once I reached high school, we began discussing the literature we were reading and writing about it. I was then that I realized that I was doing exactly what I enjoyed. College has allowed me to analyze and interpret these famous texts, which I have always found fascinating. The next step is to teach others how to analyze and enjoy literature in the same manner. I couldn’t be more excited to do so.
