For this project I used Photostory3 to create
my own digital story. First, I opened
Photostory3 and clicked “begin a new story.”
Then I imported my own pictures.
After my pictures were all in the program I began to edit each
individual image and make comments about them.
After all of my comments were completed I added music to the
pictures. All of my pictures were from
my trip to California, so I wanted to choose the song “Hotel California,” by the
Eagles.
I didn't have the song on a CD and I couldn't download it.
Instead I just chose a song that was already on the
computer. I saved my photo story as a wmv,
rather than a wp3, because I didn’t want the photo story to be too big. Next, I
created a link to the photo story on a webpage in the NvU program and then
published by page.
This
project is extremely beneficial because it is a fun task where students can
create their own project based on what they are learning in the classroom. Students will not only enjoy creating digital
stories, but will benefit from sharing them with their classmates. I can already think of numerous ways that I would
want to use this program in the classroom. I might use this if I take pictures
from an assembly, field trip, award ceremony, or classroom projects.
