For project two, I learned how to create a website using Google sites. I was able to design an Elementary School Design. I worked alone on this project, and decided to name it SMP Elementary school. On my webpage I created links to other pages such as a Calendar of Events, Faculty & Staff, and our Mission Statement. I really enjoyed this project, because I was able to be creative as I wanted to to enhance my school's webpage. After using both Nvu and Google to make a website, I would prefer in the future to use Nvu. I found Google to be more confusing and harder to navigate.
It is important, as a future educator, that you have access to your school or district's website. It is a good way to inform parents of upcoming events and what is going on at their child's school. A website is also a professional way to remain in contact with parents or other faculty members.
