Project number two was to create a webpage for an Elementary school. We were to work in collaborative groups and help one another. For this project I used Google Sites. At first I was very confused and frustrated. However, as my group worked together and the professor walked us through some things I felt a little more confident. As I continued working with GoogleSites I learned to like it. It's very different than Nvu, but once you get the hang of it I think it is much easier. The pages look more complex and professional and there are more options when using GoogleSites. The requirements were to create 3 linked pages on out school's site. As i worked on this project I found myself wanted to create more than just three pages. Making them is so simple and fun. Adding pictures in Google is much simpler, and the formatting has so many more options. Also, when using GoogleSites your site is automatically published online, unlike when using Nvu. Overall I enjoyed this project, and gained some appreciation for the creators of our very complex school web site at www.cortland.edu. I can recall being so angry or frustrated when a link on the site didn't work, but now I see how easy it is for something like that to happen.
