Project 5 |
Project 5 (Web Quest Project) was a group
project. I worked with my unit plan group from Science class. For
this project, my group and I designed and published a Web Quest for Science
class. Through teamwork, my group mastered both content and subject matter.
Since our Science unit is on endangered species, our Web Quest was on
endangered species. The requirements are found at
http://web.cortland.edu/strattons/edu374/newebinquiry4.html. This project
involved several technical programs. I used Nvu, WS_FTP, and internet
resources. First of all, my group created a sketh of the design of the
whole Web Quest website. Secondly, I set up the framework for the Web
Quest in my ePortfolio. This was actually the first page that I used a
vertical navigation. Then I created all of my pages for the Web Quest
project on Nvu so that each page has the same basic format. Thirdly, I
added content to the web pages. Each group member was in charge of one
page, and we each researched information and then e-mailed each other the
content. Lastly, I published my whole Web Quest to my Cortland web
account using WS_FTP. This Web Quest project will be very helpful for me
as a future teacher. Since I now know how to create a Web Quest and the
content that is in a Web Quest, I will be able to make one for my future
students. This way, my students will be able to access only the
information I want them to have. I am glad that I learned how to create a
Web Quest because I will definitely use one in the future.
