Project #6 (Microsoft Publisher Project) was an individual project. For this project, I created a brochure and a greeting card. For this project, the brochure was required and the greeting card was optional. I made a brochure for my group’s activity for Math Day at Parker Elementary School. For Math Day, my group played BINGO with the students, so my brochure relates to our BINGO game. This was really helpful for me because it was a joint project with my math class with Ellen Newman. Next, I chose to make a thank you card for my friend Mikayla, since she helped my family at a Relay for Life event. For both of these projects, I used Microsoft Publisher, Nvu, WS_FTP, and Paint. To begin, I created both of the projects using Microsoft Publisher. This was actually the first time I used Microsoft Publisher, and I learned a lot, especially how to make a brochure. Then, I took a screenshot of the images on Microsoft Publisher and then pasted them into Paint. Then, I cut the images out and saved them. After that, I uploaded the images into Nvu. Once I finished creating my page for project #6 in Nvu, I published my e-portfolio website using WS_FTP. This project will be very helpful to me as a future teacher because I will be able to create flyers, posters, newsletters, cards, labels, signs, and other documents to help me organize my classroom.
