Franklyn S. Barry Elementary School currently has 420 students. We opened our doors in the spring of 1959. We held the post of superintendent of Cortland from 1947-1960. Serves the southwestern portion of the City of Cortland and the northwestern side of the town of virgil. In Advanced Web Page Design we are currently working on a website for the Franklyn S. Barry Elementary School.

hild's education by becoming a member of the PTA. The PTA address's problems not only faced in school but also problems children face at home. The PTA focuses on connecting home life with school life which creates a better life for our loved children.
Franklyn S. Barry is committed to going green. Our project has no effect on the school districts taxes. We are saving $295,000 yearly because of this program. We are using high efficiency LED lights, replacement of old a/c units with more efficient ones and switching from electric heaters to gas heaters. Every morning students must report to class by 8:30am, while dismissal is at 3:10pm. If your child is part of the afterschool program they must go to the dining room. Your child must present a note if plans have changed and he or she intends to go home after school. We appreciate prior notice because this allows us to operate more efficiently without any confusion.
