Learn English through video

Choose your favorite movies or TV series, download them, and have your paper and pen ready. Ready? Let's go...to watch the first episode in the following steps! I'll take my favorite TV series, Friends, as an example. (Note: the free on-line resources can be only used for learning.)

For the first time, focus on the Chinese subtitles and try to understand the plot. (See the highlighted part in the picture below.) 

For the second time, try to ignore the Chinese subtitles and concentrate on the English subtitles to get very word clearly. (See the highlighted part in the picture below.)

For the third time, now, since you must know the plot and dialogues quite well, you can pause it anytime and jot down some useful words or phrases that you want to learn.  (e.g. see the phrase "live off" in the picture below.)

Watching one episode by using the method mentioned above for three times is recommended. You can watch it more times for the better understanding of the cultural phenomena.

Remember: Focus on one part each time.
