Title Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Credits	Introduction: How and why did slavery come to the Americas? *How did slavery enter the Americas? *Who played a major role and who was effected by it *How was it ended Slavery is a social-economic system where certain individuals or groups of people are denied their rights and freedoms and forced to work for free.  The practice of slavery has occurred in many societies throughout world history.  It occurs when leaders of a nation only care for the economic value of their people and not their basic human rights.  When European nations began taking over societies and setting up colonies, however, they exploited the native peoples and kidnapped African slaves by using terror tactics to force them into unpaid labor.  This exploitation and its results have led to slavery being an international and race-driven issue and has directly influenced the way of life of all North American nations.  Although it is currently seen as a problem of the past, slavery still plagues certain peoples of the world today.  For example. a recent study has shown that 8% of Niger's population are slaves.
