Recognize
a Proper Noun
In
a travel brochure the writer uses many proper nouns as tourist
attractions to interest the reader. (For example, famous places,
buildings, and people.) The travel brochure about Verona is
filled with proper nouns.

- A proper noun has two distinctive
features:
- 1) it will name
a specific person, place, or thing;
and
- 2) it will begin with a capital
letter no
matter where it occurs in a sentence.
- A Noun that does not
name a specific person, place, or thing is called a common noun.

common noun or a proper noun.
