Project #1: First Publication of my ePortfolio

This is the first publication of my e-portfolio. There were many goals involved with this project. First, we were required to become familar with and use Nvu in order to create our portfolio. Next, we learned how to use different fonts, colors and pictures to personalize our portfolio. We learned the importance of saving our work correctly and in the proper file location. When it came time to link the sites together, it was a bit tricky but after awhile, and a lot of practice it became easy. When satisfied with the outcome, we were required to use WS_FTP to publish it. Once published, anyone is able to view it on the internet.

This was my first experience creating a website, and I found it to be very benefical. As a future teacher, I can't wait to use this in my classroom. This will allow the students to become very familiar and comfortable with not only this program, but with computers in general. This would also benefit each student by boosting their self-esteem, in regards to them contributing to the creation or addition of the site. Parents/guardians would also benefit from this technology, by keeping the lines of communication open.
