Brainstorming for Writing Your Editorial



If you need help organizing your editorial or do not know how to start,
feel free to use this outline as a guide.


Introduction

Paragraph 1

  • Give some background information on your topic. Don't assume people are already familiar with it. 
  • Provide one sentence that states your opinion about whether you feel young children should have a Facebook (thesis statement). Do you think young children should have a Facebook? Yes or no and why?
  • Make sure you state your opinion without using "I."
Body
Three or four paragraphs that explain your opinion about young children having a  Facebook account. Try to give at least three (3) reasons.

Reason 1
          -Details stating why and evidence to support your opinion.

Reason 2
          -Details stating why and evidence to support your opinion.

Paragraph 4
Reason 3
          -Details stating why and evidence to support your opinion.

Try to make your editorial entertaining, you don't want the reader to be board while reading it.

You must have the following:
  • A total of six (6) nouns
  • A total of three (3) adjectives
  • A total of two (2) prepositions
Conclusion
Paragraph 5
Wrap your essay up and tie it all together. Re-state your thesis.
