In
this lesson, you will be learning how to write an editorial.
An
editorial is an opinion piece written by an editor or publisher of a
newspaper or magazine. They allow readers to make sure that their voice is heard.
An
editorial presents facts, but gives more analysis and more of the
writer's opinion. It should have a lot of research and should not be
based just on the writer's opinion-the writer must present evidence to
back up their opinion. When a writer writes an editorial, they do not use the word "I."
Fact: a piece of information that is true and can be proven to be true.
Opinion: a view, judgment, ideas or beliefs about a particular subject.
