Listening Sources for Students Learning English

These radio show podcasts are available online, and new shows are added regularly.  These and others can also be listened to and downloaded through iTunes.  The level of all of the shows is advanced, since speaking is often fast and filled with idioms and complex vocabulary, but short segments can be used for practice.

Each week, This American Life picks a theme and compiles a variety of personal stories, news exposés, and the occasional fictional piece related to that theme. Although some speakers may be difficult to follow because they speak quickly, the show's variety makes it possible to find short, very interesting segments that are more accessible.
