While teaching English in Guayaquil, Ecuador, I noticed what a huge difference authentic, high-quality listening and reading sources can make. By using resources that are rich in level- and age-appropriate vocabulary, grammatical structures, and themes, teachers have much more to draw upon when facilitating discussion, encouraging students to write, and creating reading and listening activities.
Students of English are also encouraged to use these resources to challenge themselves, to expand their vocabularies, and of course just to enjoy reading, listening, and practicing grammar skills.
The resources on the following page are just a smattering of all that is available, and of course the list will continue to grow over time.
