Writing Activity Guidelines and Directions

Directions:
You will be using all of the steps of the writing process (outline, rough draft, revise / edit, and final copy) to create your own instructional text.  Remember, you must include all of the features of instructional texts (title, materials needed, and instructions).  Be sure to include the grammar points you have been studying in your text.  Finally, be as detailed in your writing as possible.  We will be following your steps in class to create the product (sandwich).

Brainstorm: How can we make our writing more detailed?





Model: Below is an example of the details that should be used in your instructions for writing your own instructional text of How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. 

Instructions:
    1. Open the bag of bread. Reach into the bag and remove two slices. 
    2. Put the two slices of bread onto the plate. 
    3. Open the jar of peanut butter. Using the knife, take some peanut butter out of the jar.
