Project # 8
For this project, I used Microsoft PhotoStory. I chose to use
pictures of my self, my family, my boyfriend, my home, and my friends. In looking for
pictures to use, I searched, Facebook, Myspace, Webshots, and my own computer to find the
ones that I would like to use in my story.
This specific project was not one that was taught to
me, but one that I used trial and error to figure out how to complete
it. I played around with fonts, colors, transitions, and adding
and deleting photos. On one occassion did I use the Help button
and it was for adding music. I did not know that you could add
music at the end of your creation, but thought you were able to add it
from the beginning page.
The overall setup oh Microsoft PhotoStory is quiet
odd. There isn't a toolbar to reference to on the top of the
page, but it is expected that you click, next or previous to change
text on pages, add different music, and change the transitions.
To me, that was the hardest thing to comprehend, because most
programs are set with that tool bar on the top.
It took me a few minutes to understand the program
and I was able to change the colors and fonts of the text that I used
on my pictures. It was a fun project and I actually enjoyed
putting the extra time in to complete it.
Miscrosoft PhotoStory is something that I would use
in my classroom (not this particular PhotoStory, that you will preview)
but, I could use this program after field trips, classroom activities,
presentations, specials, and anything involved with the classroom.
It could be shown at a parent night or sent to parents in
e-mails, as a virtual tour of the classes accomplishments. I really
enjoyed this project and wish that I have Microsoft PhotoStory on my
personal computer.
