Our home is located in the Florida Keys near the Coral Reef .  This home is especially adapted to this region for several reasons.  The first adaptation of our home is the aluminum roof.  Due to a high frequency of storms, it is important to have a strong roof that is resistant to severe storms.  Secondly, our home does not have a basement.  Our home does not have a basement because we are so close to the ocean that a basement would flood.  The water table is very high this close to the ocean.  In addition, there are lots of windows in the house so that we can try to keep our house cool during the hot summer months.  Finally, there is a patio on our home so that we may sit outside to enjoy the warmth of Florida when we are relaxing.  Below you will see some pictures of our home, and the surrounding area.
