Every country or culture has their own set of table manners, or ways to behave, for eating.  Here are some common manners (DO's and DON'Ts) in the United States:

Don't talk with food in your mouth.
Don't chew with your mouth open.
Don't make unusual noises while eating (slurping, burping, etc.).
Don't reach for food if it's not right in front of you.
Don't eat with your hands.
Don't leave the table without being excused.

Do say "excuse me" or "pardon me" after burping.
Do keep the table and tablecloth as clean as possible.
Do use your fork and knife to eat
Do ask "would you please pass the ________?" if the food is not right in front of you.
Do say "thank you" when food is passed to you.
Do wait until everyone has been served to start eating.

Looking at the above picture again, what are the people doing that's not polite?  Think of five DOs or DON'Ts from the list above and write your answers in the box below.

Example:  "The man on the right has no food.  In the United States, it is polite to wait until everyone has been served to eat."
