The information is research driven and explains what was found in the research when observing the brain activity. My Friend with Autism by Beverly Bishop and Craig Bishop This is a children’s book all about a child who has a friend with Autism. The book describes the child with autism, and what his characteristics are like. There is a page that mentions autism cannot be caught, and I think that is a very important concept for children to know at a young age. An Early Start with Your Child With Autism by Sally J. Rogers PhD, Geraldine Dawson PhD, and Laurie A. Vismara PhD This book is research driven and gives advice to parents and families on how to connect with their child through play and other activities. In this book you will also find helpful ways to have an early intervention with your child to search for autistic traits. There are resources and tools provided to make sure your child is receiving the proper experiences for their age. 1001 Great Ideas for Teaching & Raising Children with Autism or Asperger's by Ellen Notbohm and Veronica Zysk This book is helpful for teachers and families teaching or raising children with autism. The book also has had over 400 new ideas added to it by the authors, including activities for teachers and families to with their children. This provides information on what Autism is, and describes their mission as helping children understand their disorder, and helping families understand in order for them to “fully participate in their communities”.
