Project # 5
Using Special Features of MS Word to Enliven Your Instruction
Anotation
This project taught me how to use Microsoft Word for various
projects and activities. Microsoft Word is an excellent program that
can be used to create worksheets, activities, and exercises for the
students. I found these projects very helpful to me as an emerging
teacher.
The first project I complete was a WordArt Acrostic. I learned how to
use WordArt horizontally and vertically to spell out my name and add
adjectives to describe myself based on the specific letter of my name.
I learned how to move the word to line up horizontally with the
vertical letters of my name. This project would be an excellent idea to
use in the classroom with your students early in the year.
The next project I completed was the Page Border. I learned how to
create a page border using Microsoft Word. I also learned how to add an
image and watermark it. This was the most interesting project for me to
create because I feel it will be the most useful to me as an emerging
teacher. It helps to make handouts and worksheets more appealing and
exciting to students.
The last product I made for this project was a set of trading cards. I
learned how to create a table and organize information in it. I placed
images on the right side columns of the table and placed the label on
the corresponding left side column. These trading cards can be used to
help students practice different skills and remember facts.
It is crucial for teachers to use technology in the classroom. These
programs and products allow the students and teacher to be creative
while still learning or teaching important facts. Creating an appealing
product or handout engages the students and makes them excited and
eager to learn. Technology is here to help us and our students!
