Introduction

Welcome, young pupil!

All throughout the world people have different beliefs and traditions.  It is through these different beliefs and traditions that we learn many new and interesting ways people once viewed and currently view the world.  One way in which people have different beliefs and traditions are in regards to the dead.  Death is a part of everyone's lives, and is inevitably unavoidable.  However, the meaning and process taken after death vary from person to person, culture to culture, and past to present.  The Ancient Egyptians were one particular group of people who had a unique way of caring for their dead.

My name is Rafi the Embalmer, and I am here to help you learn the art of mummification. However, I have much to do and am unable to guide you.  You must take the matters into your own hands, using the papers that I have left for you to learn the art.

Be on your way, and don't forget you may be called upon to help with a King's burial.  Will you be prepared?!
