Part of what helps students learn best is when there is fun tied into it. Here are a few games and activities that go along with our unit about endangered animals and the rain forest. *One deals with matching the pairs of endangered animals, one allows the students to pair the animal with its correct biome. http://www.sandiegozoo.org/kids/games/dwes.html*For the second game is called "Caught in the Act". Children get a couple sentences that describe each animal, as well as a map and a picture of the animal, and they will have to drag each animal to which part of the world they think it lives. http://www.worldwildlife.org/fun/games/caught/board.html *For this game students will be able to match the animal to its correct Habitat.* http://www.scholastic.com/magicschoolbus/games/habitat/*The fourth and final activity is a quiz on tigers, where students can test themselves on how much they know, or think they know about tigers. http://www.worldwildlife.org/fun/quizzes/tigers/Despite the absence of text books and hand outs, Games and activities lets children endeavour learning through a different view point. And it’s fun too! |
