Today's Traditions |
Parades Many towns or cities in the United States have parades on July 4th. These parades usually have themes of red, white, and blue since our flags color are those colors. Many people on this day show their patriotic side because they are dressed in red, white and blue and have the American flag waving all around. Parades have bands, classic cars, fire trucks, characters and much more! The most important thing is that people are showing their pride for their country.
Barbeque/Picnic Many people have barbeques or picnics on July 4th. They get together to eat, talk and have some fun on July 4th. Often, people have hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, chicken, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, and lets not forget fresh fruit like watermelon or strawberries. Fireworks All over the United States there are thousands and thousands of fireworks displayed each year on this day. We have to wait until its dark to start the fireworks so that you can really see all of the color and shapes the fireworks make. Fireworks are a great way to celebrate the fourth of July.
Carnival/Fair Some towns have carnivals or fairs on the fourth of July. You can go on rides, play games, and eat food! There are sometimes animals at the fair or carnival too. These animals can be in a show to win prizes and some animals you may be able to pet or ride.
