The Appel brothers Keith and Kristopher founded Apple Tours Long Island in 1991. Being born on Long Island the two boys have seen the way LI has changed and grown since they were children. Their parents Kevin and Kathie Appel made sure that they saw and experienced everything Long Island had to offer because they grew up on the Island also. Of course the boys grew to love the place they lived.

After graduating from SUNY Cortland for business Keith approached his brother with the idea of creating a tour company for the place they loved most. After sketching up ideas for a few years and saving up to create the company, Keith and Kris launched Apple Tours Long Island in the summer of 1991. Their goal was to spread the beauty and history of Long Island to its visitors and residents.

Apple Tours Long Island started small with only one tour, one bus, and with Keith as the tour guide and Kris as the driver/mechanic. Since then their company has grown significantly with 3 tour busses, a 40-passenger boat and a great staff!
