Project # 5
For this project we teamed up to cooperatively
collaborate for the publication of a WebQuest designed for sixth grade
students. I learned a great deal about teamwork during this
process, and more importantly, how enriching a WebQuest can be for
elementary students. Specifically, we chose the topic of the
Holocaust because it encompasses many significant educational concepts.
We created a main page that included the title of our WebQuest,
grade level and the authors. Next, we created an introduction
page which served as a preface to the task page. It introduces
the event and poses questions for the students to think about during
their exploration. Then, we made a task page, and process page,
which directs students toward useful website resources to use for their
tasks. Finally, we created a conclusion page that recaps the main
focus of the WebQuest and congratulates the students for a job well
done. Also, we concluded the project with a credits page that
gives recognition to all the sources that we utilized for the project.
Overall, this project was extremely enlightening and a great
learning experience. I look forward to creating WebQuests for my
students when I become an elementary teacher to ensure that they have a
full inquiry-based learning experience!
