For this project we utilized Microsoft Publisher to create an educational brochure. I believe that literacy is an imperative aspect of every student's education. Accordingly, I decided to base my brochure on the nation-wide event of "Reading Across America" with Dr. Seuss. Although I have never had the opportunity to use Microsoft Publisher I was able to learn very quickly. It was very easy to use because it has a variety of useful templates to use for several types of brochures. Once I chose my template, I was able to change the color scheme of the brochure. I worked on each panel individually by inserting text into the text boxes, and filling them will color to enhance the overall appearance of my creation. I was able to insert pictures into my brochure, and adjust their size to fit into each panel. Some pictures I had to format so that they wrapped around the text or were sent behind the text. Overall, this project was very fun and easy to create. I will definately be able to use Microsoft Publisher in my own classroom to create educational projects.
