Alpha Phi is a sorority that was first founded in October, 1872 at Syracuse University in Upstate New York.
It was first called a Fraternity because sororities were not created at that time.
Women's Cardiac Care is the Greek organizations main philanthropy.
The SUNY Cortland Alpha Phi Chapter is specifically named Eta Tau. It was first founded in Cortland on April 30, 1989. The founding sister is Lynda Ratagliata. There are currently 100 active members. The Chapter House is located at 52 Tompkins Street.
Alpha Phi's motto is "Union hand in Hand". The sorority colors are Silver and Bordeaux. Every fall semester sisters of the Eta Tau Chapter conduct a Teeter-Totter-Athon on the front lawn of the Chapter House. In the spring the sisters hold a Red Dress Gala Dinner at a nearby venue.
