Welcome to the Reflection Page For My Science Inquiry Lesson Plan!
Objective III states that I understand science by
using inquiry to make sense of all aspects of "the sciences".To show
that I have met this objective I have attached my science inquiry
lesson plan on volcanoes. This lesson plan was created based off the
book, Vacation Under the Volcano.
From that book, science inquiry questions were
developed. From that, one question was chosen for an experiment.
The students were given the materials and told to make an experiment to
answer the inquiry question.
By creating this lesson plan I learned that students
can guide their way through a science experiment when they are provided
with a question and the materials needed. By doing a guided inquiry
lesson the students are able to discover answers to the questions they
might have, regarding a certain topic. For this particular lesson the
students were able to try different experiments to collect data about
how temperature effects the movement of magma.
This artifact shows that I've met this objective
because students were able to discover a science concept through a
guided inquiry lesson plan. This is necessary to my future career
because I have learned how important it is to use inquiry to help
students develop an understanding of all science concepts.
