Welcome to the Reflection Page For My
Wolf Journal Lesson Plan
Objective IV states that I am able to develop a
lesson plan which touches upon both science and other academic areas.
For this objective I have attached my wolf journal lesson plan. This
lesson was developed based off the book, Wolf Journal.
A podcast was created for the students to read along to, which provides
students who might not have the ability to read a book, that difficult,
to follow along.
Before
the students follow along to the podcast a lesson would be implemented.
This lesson was an introduction to the unit on Wolf Journal.
In this lesson the students developed an understanding of wolves and
what they need to survive in the winter. They did this by participating
in activity that allows them to collect necessities for the wolves to
survive. After the activity the students will reflect upon their new
knowledge. Please take a look at the lesson for further understanding.
This
lesson has taught me how important it is to integrate subjects. For
this particular lesson students used both ELA and science skills to
develop knowledge on wolves. By doing this podcast and lesson plan I
have demonstrated that I can model the profession skills needed to
teach elementary school science.
This is
important because I have developed the confidence that I can teach
science and connect it to other subjects within the classroom.
