Women's Ice Hockey

Team Work Makes the Dream Work

As a Cortland Red Dragon, it is important to always represent the values of SUNY Cortland. The Women's Ice Hockey program creates a team culture that includes and accepts everyone because each player is a valuable asset to the team. Every girl who is part of Women's hockey has unique skills and talent, which is a big reason why this team is successful.

The team culture brings all the players together, and shows them that when teammates work together to reach a common goal, it can be achieved through hard work, dedication and focus from each individual, which are just a few values that are key to this program.

Respect, perseverance, discipline, commitment, resolve. These traits are essential in creating the Red Dragon culture. Without any of these values, individuals emerge who are not team players. Each player works to make their teammates better than the day before, including themselves.

The Red Dragon environment helps the girls create long-lasting friendships and memories that they will cherish forever.

Once a Red Dragon, Always a Red Dragon.

One Team, One Family

Not only does the Women's Ice Hockey program have their own team culture, but so does every athlete on SUNY Cortland campus. Each team program is combined together to create a team environment all across campus. Players know each other based on the teams that he/she plays on, and they already share the "Student-Athlete" bond.
