Project Three
For project three, I learned how to construct my own word search
puzzle. I did this by using PuzzleMaker from SchoolDiscovery.com.
I was able to choose how many words I wanted in my puzzle and
what words I wanted to include. Once my puzzle was created, I
then copied the file into Microsoft Word. Once I saved the word
file in MS Word, I learned how to change the font and even add a faded
background image behind the puzzle. Next, I had to make a screen
shot of the puzzle by utilizing the MS paint program. It was
necessary at this point to then save my file as .jpeg. Lastly, I
linked my puzzle in MS Word with the image of the puzzle as the link
image. Throughout this project, I realized how important it is to
save all files of your webpage under the same name. This allows
for your links to work properly.
As a future educator, I thought that this is a crerative way for
students to work with their vocabulary words. I also like how the
image is linked to MS Word, so the students can even complete the
puzzle on a computer by highlighting the words in a different color or
they have the option of printing out the puzzle. I enjoy word
searches myself, so I feel that children will enjoy this, too!
