Twitter Used in School

Ms. Conrad's class

Ms. Conrad's class uses Twitter to post a weekly newsletter to keep parents up to date on their kids daily activities (Michelle Manchir, 2012). Not only does this kep the students parents updated but it also helps parents to get some kids to talk about their day while at the dinner table. Combining technology with education creates an exciting new enviorment for kids to learn while also helping them improve reading, typing and spelling skills.

District 308

District 308 is located in Oswego, Illinois and has fully integrated social media into their school district. They use Twitter to keep parents updated on things such as closings, emergencies, test schedules, and assignment dates (Graves, B.B. O'Malley, 2014). Teachers use facebook to post links, assignments and information allowing parents to stay involved in their kids education (Graves, B.B. O'Malley, 2014). The use of Twitter allows important messages to reach unlimited amounts of people instantly.
