In this webquest we are going to be looking at several important contributing factors to the book A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. We are going to look at the history of Afghanistan and how that is a factor that has played into the current state of affairs, as well as take a look at the author and how credible his experience is in the writing of the book. We are also going to look at the two religions that are mentioned in the book and the impact that they have on the Afghani society and how that also plays into the treatment of women. We need to learn how to use a global perspective when looking at novels that originate in other countries and try to analyze these works with their culture and beliefs in mind.
