Pilgrim(s)
1. (n) - A person that takes a journey (generally over a long distance) for religious purposes to a new land.
2. (n) - one of the group of people who founded Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts in 1620.
Native American(s)
1. (n) - Indian.
2. (n) - a member of the indigenous (native) peoples within the boundaries of the United States. There are many tribes and ethnic groups. 
Wampanoag Tribe
1. (n) - A Native American tribe. They lived in the area known today as southeastern Massachusetts (Cape Cod and Nantucket) and Rhode Island. There were thousands of Wampanoag Native Americans living in the area at the beginning of the 17th century (1600's).
Protestant(s)
1. (n) - A group of people belonging to a branch of the Christian religion. They are not Catholic.
The Mayflower
1. (n) - The ship (large boat) that sailed from England to the New World. The Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock (Massachusetts) in 1620.
Squanto and Samoset
1. (n) - Two Native Americans belonging to the Wampanoag tribe. They helped the Pilgrims plant and harvest crops. They taught them about the land.

1. (adj) - Great quantities; abundant; a lot of.
Harvest
1. (n) - The process or period (time) of gathering crops.
Blessings
1. (n) - Things (people, belongings, etc.) to be thankful for.
Cranberry Sauce
1. (n) - A jellied sauce made from cranberries.
2. (n) - A traditional thanksgiving food.
Brittle
1. (adj) - Hard but can break easily.
2. (adj) - Breakable; fragile.
Volunteer
1. (n) - A person who offers to take part in a task (ie. helping people).
2. (v) - Offering to to do something without pay.
Food Drive
1. (n) - A form of charity.
2. (n) - A group of people organizes a collection of food (canned or boxed), then gives it to others who cannot afford food.
Televised
1. (v) - On television (tv).
Floats
1. (n) - A platform set up on a truck (decorated with balloons, pictures, streamers, etc.). It is displayed in a parade.
