Alphabetizing!

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Reminder*
When a group of words are alphabetized, that means they are arranged in alphabetical order from A to Z.

As seen in the song, all of the states that start with A are listed first, followed by the states that start with B and so on.

If two words start with the same letter, we look at the next letter in the word to alphabetize it.

For example: A
laska and Arizona both start with A, so we have to look at the second letter in the word which is l and r. Since l comes before r in the alphabet, Alaska would be placed before Arizona.

This process would repeat if they had the same first and second letter, then we would look at the third letter.
