About Me! "Life's short. Break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that once made you smile." Hi my name is Theresa Anne Conklin
and I grew up in the very small town of Cambridge, New York. Most
people have never heard of my home town and many of my friends joke
that it is such a small country town that there are basically more cows
than people! I am definately a small town country girl, but I love
going to the city. However, I would never want to live in a city,
because I love the country life. I grew up in a strong Christian
family, which has had a huge impact on the person that I have become. I
still hold strong to my faith in all that I do and everyday I count my
blessings of my family and friends!
One of my favorite past times is to be outdoors playing sports. I have played sports ever since I was a young girl, and have often excelled at them. My favorite sports to play are field hockey, softball, basketball, and soccer. I am currently the starting goalie for the Club Field Hockey team here at SUNY Cortland and I love it! I also enjoy watching sports on tv, especially baseball and football. My favorite sports teams to watch are the Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. When I am not in school or playing sports I spend a majority of my free time with my 2 year old nephew Aidan or the three boys that I babysitt for. My nephew is a love of my life and he is just an awesome little person! Also, I have been babysitting for the same family ever since I was 11 years old. They are a huge part of my life and I see them as little brothers and they look at me as a big sister. I don't know what I would do without them, they are basically a second family to me! I miss them and my nephew so much while I am away at school and I look forward to going home to see them whenever I get the chance. I am currently a senior at SUNY Cortland. I am a childhood education major with a history minor. I will be graduating from Cortland in May of 2007 with my degree in childhood education and will be starting Grad school in the Spring of 2008 at the College of Saint Rose to get my Master's in early childhood education. I thoroughly enjoy working with young children and have basically been doing it for my entire life. I enjoy watching young children grow and learn as they develp into unique individuals. I love knowing that as a teacher I will be able to make a difference in each and every one of my student's lives. My Brother, Sister in Law, Nephew, and Me at Disney World! |
