Les hiboux
Ce sont les mères des hiboux
Qui désiraient chercher les poux
De leurs enfants, leurs petits choux,
En les tenant sur les genoux.

Leurs yeux d'or valent les bijoux
Leur bec est dur comme cailloux
Ils sont doux comme des joujoux,
Mais au hiboux point de genoux!

-  Dans le poème, certains mots sont au singulier et d'autres au pluriel.
À votre avis, lesquels sont au pluriel? Vous vous vous rappelez (this is a reminder) qu'en français autant qu' en anglais, la plupart des noms prennent un "s" pour marquer le pluriel. Par exemple, vous dîtes, "a tree and two trees" tout comme les français disent "un arbre et deux arbres. Dans les deux cas, les noms prennent un "s" au pluriel.
Mais, en français comme en anglais, il existe des exceptions.
Par exemple, vous dîtes:
a) a deer / two deer (not two deers, c'est une exception),
b) a foot / two feet, c'est  une exception,
c) a louse / several lice, not several louses, encore une exception.

- Speaking of lice, vous vous rappellez  comment on dit "lice" en français?
