We have a friend named Ranger Bud.  He works at Rocky Mountain National Park.  We were strolling through the park one day and ran into him while he was tending to the dwarfed shrubs.  We started talking to him and told him that we just moved to the area.  He offered to show us around the park and introduce us to some new animals that we may have not seen before.  We became good friends this day!  It was nice to know someone native to this area that we were unfamiliar with.

Our families did not come with us.  This is a temporary research position and our families wanted to stay home.  They could not handle the extreme climate in the Alpine Tundra.

We frequently meet the grouse outside of our campsite.
