“121 prescription drugs sold worldwide are derived from rainforest plants.”

“25% of the active ingredients in today’s cancer fighting drugs come from rainforest plants”

So What's the Big Deal?
Everyday thousands of trees are cut down because of deforestion.

What is Deforestation?
Deforestation is when trees are cut down to supply timber.

Who Does This and How is it Done?
Deforestation occurs because of big name companies that do not realize how useful our rainforests are. They come into the forests with chainsaws and bulldozers and begin to chop down trees.

So, Why is Deforestation Such a Big Deal?
When trees are being cut down in such high numbers, it ruins the habitat. Where are animals going to live once the trees are all cut down?
Trees provide us with the oxygen we need to breathe. What will happen to us once all of the trees are gone?
Numerous plants are used to create medicine to treat the ill. What will we use once the trees have been cut down and plants have been ruined?
All of these problems are because of once simple word...
DEFORESTATION

We need your help! What can we do to stop deforestation?
