Neil M. Ashe
President and CEO, Global eCommerce
Neil Ashe was appointed in January 2012 to lead Walmart’s Global eCommerce Division, which develops strategies, platforms and applications that combine the latest in online innovations with physical stores to give Walmart’s customers a unique and seamless shopping experience.
Prior to his current role, Neil was president of CBS Interactive, where he led online properties and drove development of innovative methods to distribute programming. He has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Business Administration from Georgetown University. He serves on the boards of AMC Networks and the Georgetown University Board of Regents.
Joel Anderson
President and CEO, Walmart.com U.S.
Joel Anderson was appointed in August 2011 to lead Walmart.com in the U.S. Prior to this role, he was the Divisional Senior Vice President, Northern Plains, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Prior to joining Walmart, Joel was the President of Direct business for Lenox. He also served in numerous roles at Toys “R” Us, Inc., including Senior Vice President, Marketing for Babies “R” Us, and leading divisions at Toys “R” Us dot.com and the stores organization. His prior companies include Target Corp. and Airborne Express. Joel has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from St. Olaf, Northfield, Minnesota.
Fernando Madeira
President and CEO, Latin America eCommerce
Fernando Madeira is based in San Paulo, Brazil, and leads eCommerce growth for Walmart in Latin America. He is establishing a regional strategy to leverage and build upon the entrepreneurial spirit and potential of the markets in Latin America.
Prior to joining Walmart, Fernando spent 23 years as CEO and co-founder of Terra, a paid content site, spearheading innovations like the first Internet-TV studio in Latin America and the first-ever legal music distribution site. He holds a BS in Information Technology from Pontificia Universidade Catòlica.
Jeremy King
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Global e-Commerce
Jeremy King has been on the forefront of cloud computing and brings over 20 years of experience building highly scalable technology platforms to support Global eCommerce operations to his position. King is also an expert on engineering methodology and productivity, SaaS and presentation layer frameworks.
Since joining Walmart in 2011, King has led product, engineering, and web ops team members charged with developing Walmart’s online business on a global scale as the company moves to the next generation of e-commerce. Prior to Walmart, King spent three years at LiveOps as Executive Vice President of Technology where he guided Fortune 500 companies to migrate their services to the cloud, embrace crowd sourcing in the enterprise and adopt highly available and secure SaaS platforms. From 2001 to 2008, King was Vice President of Engineering and Software Development at eBay. During his tenure, he led the team that selected and implemented the next-generation application platform “V3,” ran engineering teams for trading and fraud systems, launched eBay in 7 new countries, opened development centers in China/India and was a key member of the PayPal integration team.
Gibu Thomas
Senior Vice President of Mobile and Digital, Global eCommerce
Gibu Thomas is responsible for all the global mobile and digital media initiatives for the company. Prior to taking on this role, he led strategy for Global eCommerce.
Prior to Walmart, Gibu was a serial entrepreneur who founded and led multiple technology companies. His first company, Bluelark Systems, created the Blazer mobile web browser, the first mainstream smart phone web browser and the default browser on Treo smartphones. Most recently, Gibu co-founded Sugarsync, a cloud-based synchronization and online backup service. Gibu has an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BS in Computer Science.
