WEBQUEST HOME

Thank you for visiting my WebQuest.  I enjoyed creating this project.  The information that was already
available on the Web was extensive so I have chosen only a small portion to include here.

My hope is that I created a WebQuest that fifth-grade children can use to learn about "Walls" and their part in telling a little bit about the people who inhabit the world.

What
I would like the children to take from this experience is the understanding that these "Walls" have meaning to those who have created them and why they were created.

As a class, I want the children to create a quilt.  Each student will be responsible for designing their own square.  My hopes are that the students design their square to signify what is important to them.  Is it their family?  Is it a hobby?  Will the square tell us a story about the individual who has created it?

Also,
I have asked the children to write a reflection paper about what they have learned and how they feel that the "Wall" has talked to the world about the people who have created it.

"History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give us a fuller understanding of ourselves, and of our

common humanity, so that we can better face the future."
