Like many great products, Wheaties® was discovered by accident when a Minneapolis health clinician accidentally spilled a whole wheat bran mixture on a hot stove. As soon as people tasted the first prototype, they knew that these whole wheat flakes were destined for greatness and Wheaties was born.
Almost 90 years later, the Breakfast of Champions honored this process by assembling five elite champions to assist in the co-creation of three prototypes of what would become the next evolution of the Wheaties brand. The three prototypes were rigorously tested, and ultimately, a group of everyday champions determined that the delicious honey cinnamon crunch formula would become the new Wheaties FUEL™.
